Located along the most spectacular views on Lake Pepin, the quaint village has just the right blend of shops, eateries, historic appeal and natural beauty. Follow Lake Pepin on Highway 35, the Great River Road, Wisconsin's only National Scenic Byway.
Stockholm’s public park sits on the shore of the river’s 30-mile-long Lake Pepin and its quaint homes and businesses hug 300-foot bluffs. Founded in 1851 by Swedish immigrant farmers, today picturesque Stockholm has attracted many artists and unique retail shops. It thrives on visitors drawn to the natural beauty of the Lake Pepin area, which, according to William Cullen Bryant, “ought to be visited in the summer by every poet and painter in America.”

Situated on one of the most scenic drives in America, Stockholm retains much of its rural period architecture, and the countryside features sprawling farm fields and the Big Woods of Laura Ingalls Wilder fame.
Less than a mile from the village museum looms Maiden Rock Bluff, site of a Dakota maiden’s legendary leap to avoid a forced marriage. The bluff and two hundred surrounding acres were preserved forever in 2004, providing public access to unique Mississippi River Valley habitat and some of the most stunning views on the Great River. |

"The Pearl of the Lake" an authentic replica of the magnificent riverboats which traveled the Mississippi in the early 1900's will be here soon. Public excursions and private charters for weddings and special occasions can be scheduled now. Visit their website for more information.

Imagine strolling the quaint streets of the village, espresso in hand, discovering that perfect treasure. As you work up an appetite you'll be pleased to find gourmet offerings served in charming cafes and gardens.
And don't forget a visit to the shores of Lake Pepin at the beautiful Village Park, with a walk down the 700 foot pier into the midst of the mighty Mississippi River or a visit to the enchanted Maiden Rock Bluff Natural Area.
